On October 13, 1972, the flight of Fairchild 571 carrying forty-five passengers crashed in the Andes Mountains of Argentina. This horrible accident took the lives of most of the passengers, including many members of a professional rugby team. Sixteen people managed to live, but what they did to stay alive is the most shocking episode in the history of human survival!
The story narrates the misfortunes of a social outsider who tries to survive the hardships of immigrants in the United States. Veronica is the daughter of the owner of the land where Johnny works. In spite of social differences Johnny and Veronica become engaged. In the end Johnny finds out that he will have a son with another woman and decides to remain with her and begin a new life in another place.
